  • 4th Graders Wow With Wax Works!

    Parents of 4th graders were delighted to see the spectacular wax museum presented by Mrs. Coley's and Mrs. Abbatiello's classes. Characters ranged from Inventors to Politicians, Musicians to Martial Arts personalities, Sports figures to Fashion designers and Royalty. We were particularly honored by the presence of Dr. Bonuso, our Superintendent. The students put a great deal of time and effort in creating their characters.

  • The Singing Busdriver

    The Singing Bus Driver , Joe Guida, brought his learning and safety songs to Fork Lane school on Friday March 3,2017.The children from the kindergarten and first grades enjoyed dancing and singing to all the activities that the Singing Bus Driver performed.

  • Sierra Gilhuley - NYS PTA Award of Merit

    Sierra Gilhuley, a second grader in Mrs. Marschean's class received the following accolade from the NYS PTA. "Dear Sierra, On behalf of the NYS PTA, I extend our congratulations to you. Your Reflections entry, "Challenge Accepted" has earned the honor of NYS PTA Award of Merit. Your artistic interpretation of the PTA Reflections theme "What is Your Story" obviously impresses the judges at several levels in the Reflections. program. Your entry was among 441 of the very best statewide to reach the NYS PTA level of Reflections judging.   • Dr. Seuss's Birthday

    Fork Lane celebrates Dr. Seuss's Birthday 2017. The children of Fork Lane made an extra special effort to dress up as characters from Dr. Seuss's books. Bringing the main idea that reading is very important in all steps of growing up.

  • Third grade chorus concert rehearsal

    The third grade chorus had a very toe tapping concert rehearsal. They demonstrated harmony and sang a song in "a round". This made for a very enjoyable presentation during the school assembly.

  • Souper Bowl Success

    The response to our annual SOUPER BOWL drive for the Boys and Girls club was great. Donations were made based on which team a donor thought would win the Super Bowl. Regardless of the final score, everyone turn out to be a winner!

  • Islanders Teamwork Assembly

    With the help of Sparky, the Islander team mascot, the importance of teamwork was presented in an assemby today at Fork Lane. The children were entertained with two videos showing the Islander team at its best and showed them that teamwork is present in the community, not just on the ice.

  • Reflections Contest

    We are happy to congratulate the winners from Fork Lane school in this years Reflections Contest. For our primary grades : Sierra Gilhuley, Ashton Phillips, Ethan Unger and Jake Wagner. For our intermediate grades: John Ryan Chaplin, Julianna DiMartino, Sasha Ger, Simone Malhi and Dylan Membrano. Sierra, Ethan, Dylan, and Julianna's entries were selected to compete at the Nassau County level. Sierra's entry won at that level and she now advances to the next level. Congratulations to all and the best of luck to Sierra !

  • Classroom reading by our own Mr. Scardino !

    Today,January 17, 2017, we got a chance to catch up to our own Mr. Scardino as he read a book to the second grade class of Mrs. Marschean. It was quite facinatting to see the children participate in a classroom type of environment with Mr. Scardino as he read a book to them. Mr., Scardino asked about the author and illustrator and got the children's appetite flowing towards the book .

  • SCHOOL OF ROCK, ROCKS!

    The 5th grade field trip to the Broadway production of the SCHOOL OF ROCK was fantastic! Parent, teacher and student were amazed at the talented children performing on stage. Everyone got into the act!
