Old Country Road will receive a cash grant to pay for the entirety of Old Country Road’s third grade students to visit the Queens Zoo this spring.

Our 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Baker, has won the nomination of radio station K98.3's Teacher of the Month!. Her prize is a trip to the Long Island Aquarium for her class.

Children in Grades K-2 had a rocking good time with the Singing School Bus Driver. Song and dance were used to teach bus safety such as remaining seated and what to do in the event of an emergency. We look forward to enjoying this assembly next year, too!
As part of an annual tradition in the district, student representatives from each school expressed their gratitude for the members of the Board of Education for all of their hard work and dedication throughout the year. The special ceremony was held in honor of Board Appreciation Month at its October meeting.
On October 26, the students learned about inertia, potential energy, kinetic energy, and mechanical energy while racing their wind-up toys! Mrs. Moir helps to ensure that children are engaged through a variety of learning styles. We can't wait to see what the fourth grade comes up with next!

At this time, our families can help some of our other families in need have a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. There was a beautifully decorated box in the OCR lobby that was repeatedly filled with generous donations. The OCR faculty and staff wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.
